Dr Francois Monnet, Head of Greater China, Private Banking Asia Pacific, Credit Suisse
Dr. François Monnet is the Head of Greater China Private Banking and Chief Executive of the Hong Kong branch, based in Hong Kong. Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Private Banking Asia Pacific, Head of Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) for Private Banking Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Operating Committee.
Dr. Monnet joined Credit Suisse in 2007 as Head of Private Banking Southeast Asia and Australasia until 2010 when he assumed a new responsibility as Head of Ultra High Net Worth for Private Banking Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan. Dr. Monnet was appointed the Chief Operating Officer for Private Banking Asia Pacific in April 2012. Prior to that, he managed the offshore core affluent client segment in the Asia Pacific at UBS, with an additional focus on the Singapore domestic market. He also worked for UBS in Zurich in Mergers and Acquisitions.
Dr. Monnet has substantial experience in strategy and business development in the financial and consumer industries across Asia Pacific and Europe, mostly with Credit Suisse, UBS and Eastman Kodak Corporation. In the latter company, he held various key managerial positions over a 10 year period, the last one being APAC CEO for Eastman Kodak Consumer Imaging Division, a franchise worth USD 1.2bn revenues.
Dr. Monnet is a graduate of the University of Geneva and holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts and Harvard Universities, Cambridge USA, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
