Head of Infrastructure and Real Estate Group, Asia Pacific
James (Jim) Cameron is Co-Head of HSBC’s Infrastructure and Real Estate Group in Asia Pacific, with over 20 years experience in the global energy and infrastructure sector.
Under Jim’s oversight in 2015, the HSBC Infrastructure, Energy and Export Finance team led regional league tables in Financial Advisory, Bond arranging and ECA categories, closing over 30 transactions in Asia Pacific. HSBC’s Project Finance team was also awarded Best MLA and Financial Adviser in Asia by Infrastructure Journal and Best Project Finance House and Best Financial Adviser by the AAA Asset in Asia, as well as being recognized through numerous deal of the year awards from PFI, Infrastructure Journal and Finance Asia.
In Indonesia, HSBC has led numerous recent transactions in the power, energy and mining sectors, most notably acting as procurement adviser to PLN on the 2,000MW Jawa 7 transaction that reached financial close in 2016.
Jim has a wide range of experience, working on transactions in all sectors across advisory, lead arranging and capital markets roles. Prior to joining HSBC in 2007, Jim worked with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and National Economic Research Associates in London.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oxford University and a Masters in Economics from Manchester University, UK.
