Richard Eu is the Group CEO of Eu Yan Sang International Ltd (Eu Yan Sang). Eu Yan Sang, founded in 1879 by his great grandfather, is in the business of providing consumer healthcare products and services based on Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) and integrative healthcare.
Richard graduated with a law degree from London University and started his career as a merchant banker. He joined Eu Yan Sang in 1989 and successfully built its business to publicly list on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) in 2000, enjoying an unrivalled reputation as one of the industry leaders in Asia. In 2010, he was named the CEO of the year for SGX listed companies with a market capitalization of under S$300 million in the Singapore Corporate Awards. In 2011, he won the 10th Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Traditional Healthcare category as well as the overall accolade. Under his leadership, the Group was honoured with the EY-Barclays Family Business Award of Excellence 2015.
Apart from his business interest, he is involved in non-profit and community organizations. He serves as Chairman of UniSIM and the National Museum of Singapore and is a Director of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities Limited.
